Basic Steps

We are going to break down step by step on how to make calls and chat with Skype. There are small differences on the MAC and PCs so we thought we should show you them.

The set up is the same.

FIRST: www.skype.com

This is what you will see on your screen.

Slide.com plugin error

SECOND: Click on "Download" button. This is a free version of Skype...you will not be charged.

This what you will see on your screen.

Using Skype is so easy, the students do it themselves daily. Here's Imanni in action!

What's Different?

1. You need a video cam if you have a PC. Mac's already come with a built in camera.

2. Recording devices are different. We both wanted to archive interactions with the students, but needed to use alternative systmes.

3. There are more "extras" for Sykpe on a PC, which can be found by clicking "Do More" on the toolbar. Extras include games, interactive white board, and ability to work on shared documents.(Some are free and some come at a cost.)
